The Bohema will feature a unique specification, and so will all the others, proving that the customization level of the model is out of this world. All the build slots for 2024 are taken, and the carmaker is already scheduling cars for production in 2025.
Praga is not your usual Ford or Toyota, so if you might not have heard of this brand, even though it is one of the world's oldest, here is your chance to learn about it. In 117 years on the market, the company with a name inspired by the capital of the Czech Republic has produced cars, trucks, and planes.
Now, the car division is working hard to deliver the Bohema, its first street-legal hypercar, on time. Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean was involved in the development of the car, and so was Ben Collins, pro driver and former Stag on BBC’s Top Gear.
Praga unveiled the Bohema prototype in late 2022. One year and a month later, the model will be manufactured in a factory near the capital of the Czech Republic. It will be hand-built in very low numbers over the next four years.
The track-focused two-door coupe is powered by a Nissan-sourced rear mid-mounted 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed sequential manual transmission. The unit was modded by Litchfield Engineering, which replaced the turbochargers to take the total output all the way to 700 horsepower (710 metric horsepower) and 535 pound-feet (725 Newton meters) of torque, all steered toward the rear axle.
The Bohema might be Praga's last all-new hypercar with an internal combustion engine. It weighs just under 1,000 kilograms (2,205 pounds), and that is all due to the extensive use of carbon fiber.
Praga invited the first clients who reserved an example to see how it's done with their own eyes at the company's bespoke assembly facility. They also had the chance to check out the production version that will be unveiled in the spring and take it on a drive on its standard Pirelli Trofeo R tires, wrapping 18-inch wheels at the front and 19-inch units at the rear.
The Bohema runs from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in 3.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 190 mph (300 kph). The first customer to enjoy this performance will get their new car in the first half of the year. Praga is also scheduling handovers in the United States and the United Arab Emirates this year.
