There was a tension at the station yesterday Flacq Monday, February 14. The residents of Camp Marcelin are irritated because a bus cooperative has decided to no longer serve their village because of repeated vandalism on their vehicles.

Angry residents of Camp Marcelin stormed the station in mid-day, asking to meet with the bus driver who serves their community but decided not to do so since the morning.

College students have had to go to a main road by foot, and were late for class. Angry parents wanted an explanation from the station master by dint of invective and threats.

Because of the conflict on Friday, the bus was assailed by college students living in this remote village. The seats were cut with a cutter; a loudspeaker was stolen and damaged the ceiling.

When passengers tried to call college students to order, they were roundly insulted. "When we try to talk to their parents, it was worse, said one of them. The police took no appropriate action to date and tired of this state of affairs, the vehicle owner has taken the decision to avoid Camp Marcelin.

"A bus costs Rs 2, 5 to 3 million. You think he's going to tempt fate. He preferred to send it to the garage after reporting the matter to the police. This will avoid additional damage. ” said a member of the Cooperative bus Flacq.

"We have repeatedly discussed with the police chief of the East. He promised that things would change but it is not. On Monday, he asked us again to ensure liaison with Camp Marcelin and we did not have to worry, that patrols will be present ... But then what?", asks he.

In the afternoon of Monday, to avoid any incidents in the area, teams of riot police were dispatched. The cooperative bus Flacq agrees to liaise with the community if there is a police escort.
