Road Bagatelle-Valentina at a Cost of Rs 465 Million Operational Soon
Work on the road Bagatelle-Valentina completed 80%. It will soon be operational.

Anil Bachoo, Minister of Public Infrastructure, visited the site on Monday and said he expects that all work is completed next month. About Rs 465 million have been spent on the construction of this new road whose main objective is to facilitate traffic between North and South. Bagatelle-Valentina Link Road involves the construction of a new stretch of road 3 km from the new roundabout Bagatelle on the M3 motorway to the M1 motorway at Valentina.

This project, which opens onto the M1 and M3 allows a direct link between the North and the South. It will contribute to the decongestion roundabouts Dowlut Bridge and Iron Phoenix. According to the Minister of Public Infrastructure, despite the good mobilization from the manufacturer, including JV Gamma-BCEG, there were natural events and constraints that prevented the progress of the work. The problems we encountered mainly land acquisition, bad weather and additional work given to the constructor. But I am satisfied with the work.

"The public will have a second jewel after the Terre Rouge-Verdun," said Anil Bachoo. He added that "there has been a lot of demagogy and comments regarding the Terre Rouge-Verdun road but the result is there and everyone is happy." He also thanked the Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam. "He was with me in very difficult times and I thank him for all his support. It is through him that we see all this development and we will continue with the Road Decongestion Program "Has he said.
