Rs 300 Million for the Flic-en-Flac Bypass
The Road Development Authority (RDA) is planning to build the Flic-en-Flac bypass at a cost of Rs 300 million this year to avoid congestion on the coastal road of Flic-en-Flac. Long five to six kilometers, the route starts near the amusement park Casela to rally the beach in Flic-en-Flac.

According to the RDA, the construction of the coastal road is necessary because it is very busy during the festive season, holidays, weekends and public events. Thus, this road will decongest this part of the country. The Ministry of Public Infrastructure and public transport is currently working on the design of this new road.

Moreover, Terre-Rouge/Verdun, Quartier-Militaire/Belle-Rive and Bagatelle-Valentina Link Road routes are already operational. This plan also allows you to build and rehabilitate roadside drains. Since 2010 to date, the government has spent a whopping Rs 5.5 billion to build drains, new roads and bridges.

According to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, it is important to build these new roads as the number of vehicles on our roads is increasing. It went from 265,841 in 2002 to 443,495 in 2013, an increase of approximately 67%. Since 2007 to date, the RDA has made no less than 41 projects at a cost of Rs 1.2 billion.
