The disappearance of the boat was reported by a resident of Mapou. His speedboat was stolen while it was moored in the lagoon of Grand Gaube. He was eventually found in La Gaulette and two residents of Flic-en-Flac were arrested.

This matter was resolved in less than twenty-four hours thanks to the collaboration between the National Coast Guard (NCG) and Field Intelligence Officers of the Western Division . The NCG Grand Gaube was present since Sunday, March 17, a complaint for theft of a yacht, whose value is estimated at Rs 700,000. Its owner had moored in the lagoon of Grand Gaube in the early evening, Saturday, March 16.

By mid afternoon, Monday, March 18, information reached the police on two individuals aged 28 years trying to sell a recreational boat fishers in the region of Preneuse in Black River. The information has been forwarded to the members of the NCG in the region.

Once there, the Coast Guard have arrested two individuals who quickly confessed to their crimes. They led the police to the coastal village of La Gaulette where the boat was found. The two suspects will be brought to Court, Tuesday, March 19.
