Remember the insane Ultima GTR? The aim of that crazy car was to combine masses of downforce with a lightweight body and an output of over 600 hp. Well, British carmaker Ultima Sports is back with something even more extreme and it’s called the Ultimate Evolution. Available as a coupe and convertible, like before the new model has styling inspired by Le Mans Group C racers, but the new cars are said to have been “vastly improved and modernized” with a carbon-fiber front splitter, new body grilles and gel coat body finish among other things.
Under hood, a Chevy LS V8 can be tuned to deliver anywhere from 350 to 1,020 horsepower. In range-topping spec, the Ultima Evolution Coupe will churn out a monster 920 lb-ft of torque from the 6.8-liter supercharged V8. Combine that with a curb weight of just 950 kg with power sent to the wheels via a Porsche-sourced six-speed quick shift manual, and the Bugatti-beater will sprint to 100km/h in 2.3 seconds, hit 160 km/h in 4.9 seconds and top out at over 386 km/h. Chassis upgrades include a fully adjustable suspension, 18-inch alloys, and LED lights all round, while the leather/Alcantara cabin boasts an Alpine sound system, rearview camera, air conditioning and other tasty toys.
