Verdun Link Road in progress
The second phase of the Link Road Terre Rouge-Verdun-Trianon Link Road is getting ready. It is expected to be completed by October 2013.

The link road will ease traffic along the A7 Road Quartier Militaire Réduit. It will reduce accidents and enhance road safety.

It will also lead to a decline in potential pollution loads from standing vehicles, hence contributing to sustainable development in line with the ‘Maurice Ile Durable’ concept.

It will also provide efficient and effective transport services to support development, business, trade, tourism and production sectors of the economy. Grade separators at Verdun and Valentina as well as three roundabouts at Cote d’or, Bagatelle and Trianon will be constructed.

Bridges will also be built on River Terre Rouge, Cascade, Aubert, Feeder Jacqout and Plaines Wilhems. Reinforced cement concrete retaining walls will also be constructed.

JV GAMMA-BCEC is responsible for construction, while Frischmann Parbhu (India) Pvt Ltd, in association with Dragon Ingenieur Conseil Ltee, is handling the consultancy work.

At about 12 months of contractual date of completion, works are slightly behind schedule due to weather constraints.
