Driving Licence Counterpart: Fine Rs 10,000 from March 28
The Minister of Public Infrastructure has decided to extend the deadline for the distribution of Driving Licence Counterpart (DLC) until March 28. After this date, the regulators a license without the DLC will have a fine not exceeding Rs 10,000 to pay.

In a statement issued on Friday 22 March, the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, the National Development Unit , Land Transport and Marine Affairs advises the public that the date of distribution of the DLC has been extended until 28 March 2013.

The deadline to get this document was previously scheduled for Thursday, March 21. However, more than 300,000 valves of a driver's license were always presented to take possession of their DLC. Why the Ministry has decided to extend the deadline.

Any motorist, including holders of Learner , not being in possession of the DLC, must be present in one of 21 distribution points in Mauritius and two distribution points Rodrigues 9:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the March 22 to 28.

Authorities remind the public after enactment of the law, non-possession of the DLC is an offense punishable by a fine not exceeding Rs 10,000.
