After Chris Evans announced his departure from Top Gear, we figured Matt LeBlanc would be in line for a promotion if he returned for the show's 24th season.

Lo and behold, the American host is here to stay, at least for the next two years. According to the BBC, LeBlanc signed a two-series deal with the BBC as the host of Top Gear.

Mark Linsey, director of BBC Studios, claims LeBlanc's humor, passion for cars, and warmth was a huge hit with Top Gear viewers last season. Chris Harris and Rory Reid will join LeBlanc with regular appearances from Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, and of course The Stig. While we knew Top Gear wouldn't replace Evans it looks like the show will stick with three main hosts, mimicking the old trio of Clarkson, Hammond, and May.

In addition to joining LeBlanc regularly on the show, Harris and Reid will continue with Extra Gear, which airs on BBC Three. There's no word on whether Harris will continue to star in Chris Harris Drives for Topgear.com, but the host took to Twitter to confirm that he will indeed be back for main Top Gear show.

Some news. I have a job. As does @MrRoryReid and @Matt_LeBlanc .https://t.co/GNdsMBX3Yx

When Evans left Top Gear roughly 24 hours after the final episode of the season aired, there was confusion as to who would replace the host. From the get-go, reports indicated that Evans' diva-like behavior, poor relationships with co-hosts, and his need to berate coworkers made him a poor fit for the job. Hopefully, with LeBlanc at the helm, Top Gear can win back some viewers.
