Road Rage: A computer System Crash Delayed Operations
The first drivers who went to the police station to get their Driving Licence Counterpart (DLC) had to take their troubles patiently. A priori, it is the management information system that is not yet developed.

This is nervousness among the first motorists rushed to go get their DLC distribution which began on Monday 21 January. The queues are continually stretched in different police stations of the island. Apparently, this is the network management software system that disrupted the smooth running of operations.

Some DLC 1000 were distributed across the 21 police stations in the country, in the early afternoon. This is very far from the target of police who thought he could reach at least 10,000 motorists for the first day of distribution.

The disorder is such that some people claim to have been in line for over two hours. Computers have, at some point, frozen and had to start operations in order to download information about the holder of the license. According to preliminary information, the central server that is causing the problem.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Beekun Rashid, head of the Traffic Branch police confirmed that there indeed was a "computer glitch that delayed somewhat effective distribution of DLC."

He says he made the rounds of police stations to monitor more closely the distribution of documents. He believes that everything should be back to normal tomorrow and the professionals who work on this project have been working hard to solve the problem.
