Rs 30 Million in Stolen Jewels: Four Suspects and Two Black Vehicles Sought

The repeat offender was seen near the drain where nine of the fourteen boxes of jewelry was recovered the night of Jan. 30.

A repeat offender, three of his accomplices and two black vehicles are actively sought by the police under criminal investigation on theft of Rs 30 million pieces of jewelry to the prejudice of the Mauritian Society of Sapphire. These individuals are suspected of being in cahoots with Aslam Khodabaccus and Hans Chamilalll, both employees of this company specializing in finished products to divert the shipment of 40 kg of gold jewelery and 120 kg of silver jewelery in the post afternoon of Thursday, January 26.

Aslam Khodabaccus and Hans Chamilall fourteen boxes were supposed to get plastic containing the jewels to the airport to bring them back to headquarters factory in Goodlands that day. But they never came on time and have been led to believe that their boss has disabled truck delayed. Prior to his attention in the early evening they were victims of an attack.
