A violent crash between a van and a bus killed three people and an unknown number of wounded early this morning of Thursday, October 13th to 16th Mile, Forest-Side.

The drama took place when the van carrying workers to the south violently hit a bus that was traveling in the opposite direction, towards Curepipe. According to a witness, the driver of the van tried to pass another vehicle. 

The driver, a resident of Rivière-des-eels and two passengers in the van, including a woman, died instantly. An hour after the accident, the three bodies were still lying on the pavement, waiting for the ambulance transport to hospital. conductors volunteered to transport to the hospital Jawaharlal Nehru the wounded, whose number is not determined. The EMS and firefighters Curepipe quickly arrived on the scene to rescue survivors. 

The passengers of the bus are all safe, according to a witness who was speaking on Radio One. Around 10 o'clock this morning, there was a traffic jam on the highway up to Curepipe in both directions, because of the onlookers and because the traffic was diverted.
