Ananda Naidoo, 50, died after he was hit by a van on Sunday afternoon. The victim, a resident of Cité Borstal, was crossing the road at Coromandel when the vehicle hit him.
The autopsy conducted by the medical officer attributed the cause of death to multiple injuries.
The breath test performed on the driver was negative. He appeared in court under a provisional charge of manslaughter.
Another accident occurred at Terre Rouge on Sunday night. Jyotsingh Juggarnath, a 30-year-old resident of Riche Terre, was severely wounded after he was hit by a motorcycle. He was rushed to Jeetoo hospital and was admitted to the intensive care unit.
In another accident reported on the same day, the victim, Jean François Michael, was on his motorcycle when he hit a wall at Argy Road. He was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. According to doctors, he is in a critical state.
Meanwhile, Steve Labonne, 27, who was involved in a road accident on June 14, died on Sunday night at Candos hospital where he was admitted. The autopsy report attributed the cause of death to sepsis.
