On Saturday, a 38-year-old man was killed when the car he was in, crashed into a wall in front of the Intermart Supermarket in Ebène.
Autopsy revealed that death occurred from shock following multiple injuries.
Still on Saturday, two motorcycles collided head-on into each other in Quatre Bornes. One of the drivers involved did not survive while others involved were admitted to Candos Hospital with injuries.
On Sunday morning, a 65-year-old woman was killed instantly in Floréal when the car she was travelling in collided with two other vehicles. Autopsy carried out by the police medical officer revealed that her death was caused due to her heart rupturing.
Occupants of both other vehicles involved were injured and had to be admitted to the in Candos.
Also on Sunday, a 64-year-old man died at the scene of the accident after he was hit by a bus while crossing Sir Edgar Laurent Street in Plaine Verte.
Early Monday morning, a collision occurred between a minibus and pick up truck in Piton where 11 passengers sustained injuries with one very severe case.
The victims were taken to the Sir Sewoosagur Ramgoolam National Hospital and the Piton Police have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances leading to the accident.
Finally, on Monday, in Rodrigues, a 73-year-old pedestrian, was killed instantly after being hit by a bus. The driver was arrested by officers under a provisional charge of involuntary homicide.
