Accident at Beaux-Songes: Driver Arrested
This inhabitant of Palma driving the 2x4 which collided with a BMW yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 15, near the roundabout Beaux-Songes. Two people died on the spot. The driver was arrested and released on bail.

Dandranee and Kissoonduth Ramchurn died yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 15, in a tragic road accident.  BMW  that drove their son, Rishi Ramchurn, collided with a 2x4 od UBP company. The driver of the vehicle, a resident of Palma, was arrested yesterday, Saturday, Feb. 15. He appeared before the Bail and Remand Court  and was released on bail.

The accident occurred near the roundabout Beaux-Songes.  Rishi Ramchurn, who is tax adviser  in a private company, was trying to overtake another vehicle when it collided with the 2x4 coming in the opposite direction. The impact was extremely violent on the left side of the  BMW,  whose body was pressed. The couple, which had sit at this side of the car, was killed instantly.

Three occupants of the 2x4, including the driver, were not seriously injured. Both drivers were subjected to a breath test which proved negative.

Still under the shock, immediately after the accident, Rishi Ramchurn phoned his uncle, Anil Roochan, saying:  "Nou finn fer enn aksidan, mo kwar mama, papa finn mor."
