Accident at Flacq: Octogenarian Fatally Hit by Bus
The road has claimed another victim Wednesday morning. Marie Edley Fricot, a resident of Bois-d'Oiseau, was fatally hit by a bus Aventure, at Flacq while crossing the road.
After the accident occurred at Beau Bassin, last Saturday, where a pedestrian Allegaree Michael, 52 years ago lost his life, a similar case is added to the list. An elderly lady of 81 years was cut short by an individual up to Flacq bus Wednesday morning July 24, when she was crossing the road near the post. Flacq police opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
As a reminder, a third of Mauritians road fatalities are pedestrians. If speeders and road environment are for many pedestrians are also to blame for this kind of risky behavior is unfortunately common and many pedestrians who are not disciplined on our roads.
