“The minibus involved in the accident on January 12 in Providence was authorized to carry only two passengers plus the driver. So says Atma Shanto during a press briefing held at the premises of the Federation of United Workers (FTU), on Tuesday.

He also explained that more and more companies are using these vehicles to transport workers and this represents a real risk to passengers. He asked National Transport Authority (NTA) to hold an investigation within the on checks that are performed on these vehicles.

He believes that the NTA should be held responsible for this tragedy which claimed 12 lives, including 11 Bangladeshis and a Mauritian

A terrible accident that involved a company truck Gamma transporting construction materials and a minibus that carried foreign workers had left 11 dead and four wounded. Six days later, another Bangladeshi had succumbed to his injuries. Survivors are still in the hospital in the North.
