A drunk driver convicted of assault
He would have been careless driving his car and it could result in death of man. Feroz Ahmad Goolfee was convicted of assault in court through two years after being involved in a traffic accident. He had pleaded not guilty.

The incident occurred in March 2009 in Port Louis. In his statement in court, he said he was driving his car. The road was blocked and the vehicles behind him were constantly honking and all the hubbub panicked. His vehicle struck the motorcycle in front of him. The report that was submitted in court an officer confirms that the car struck the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man named Descubes, reported that he was driving in the Plaine-Verte direction with his friend, Aboobakar Mungrali, sitting in the back.

Suddenly a car came and hit them. Aboobakar was projected onto the asphalt and was transported to hospital for emergency care. The bike has been reduced to a heap of scrap.

Descubes confessed in court to be in possession of a 'learner' to drive and he had no right to take another person on his motorcycle. Aboobakar Mungrali confirmed the release of his friend. But he also said he does not remember what part of the car struck. The magistrate found that the accused left the standard of due diligence and a driver's carelessness resulted in injuries and strokes suffered by Aboobakar Mungrali.
