He spent five days in the hospital, fighting for its survival. But Rajendra Vencatasamy, 53, died of his injuries on January 2. He was hit by a motorcycle while he was on a crosswalk at Quatre Bornes. The driver appeared in court Friday, Jan. 3, before being released on bail.

He did not survive his injuries. Rajendra Vencatasamy, 53, died at Victoria Hospital, Candos, Thursday, Jan. 2. This inhabitant of Quatre-Bornes was hit by a motorcycle while he was on a crosswalk.

The accident took place on December 28 in St-Jean, Quatre-Bornes. Rajendra Vencatasamy was rushed to Victoria Hospital, where he was admitted. 

As the motorcyclist, a resident of Quatre-Bornes 46 years old, he was subjected to a breath test. It was negative. He appeared in court yesterday, Friday, Jan. 3, before being released.
