School Vans; Road congestion Program; Toll Road

School Vans

As of August 20, all vans must have a school assistant driver. This was revealed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Infrastructure. He was answering a parliamentary question from Josique Radegund (MMM).

Road congestion Program

Responding to a parliamentary question from Raffick Sorefan, Anil Bachoo has given the costs of various projects underway on the road decongestion.

This program includes the construction of the Harbour Bridge, the Port Louis Ring Road Phase 1 & 2, the Busway, Terre Rouge-Verdun Link Road and the East West Connector. Other works have been added, including the expansion of the M1 road from St John Pont Colville, and Colville Bridge to Grewals.

The minister said the contract for the Port Louis Ring Road (Phase 1) was awarded to Rehm Grinaker-Colas (Mauritius) for the sum of Rs 1,159,766 870.57. To date, no payment has been made concerning changes.

The contract Terre Rouge-Verdun-Trianon Link Road has been allocated for Colas (Mauritius) and Colas (Madascar) for the sum of Rs 2,161,715 973.58. The project is still ongoing. Regarding the expansion of the national from the Pont St-Jean Colville is Gamma Civic which won the contract for $ 238,954 Rs 579.65. The work was completed without any additional payment.

The portion from Pont Colville Grewals was entrusted to the firm Sinohydro Corporation Ltd for the sum of Rs 257,803 432.17. Work is still ongoing.

Toll Road

An initial contract of USD 1.5 million had been allocated for SPP Projects Solutions (PTY) Limited for the design, construction, financing, operating costs and maintenance of the circular road and the Harbour Bridge. But given the various additional work, the contract amount has been revised upwards or $ 2,851,911. A sum of USD 2,265 496.43 has been paid to the consulting firm.
