Policeman died in road accident
Kavidass Ramburrun, a 47-year-old police officer assigned at the port died on Saturday night at Long Mountain after an accident.

He was driving to his work place when the tragedy occurred. He was rushed to the hospital, but passed away after some time.

The autopsy report attributed the cause of death to multiple injuries on his head and body. The incident occurred at around 9 pm. According to sources, Ramburrun, known as Uttam, was returning to work after having dinner at home.

He was heading towards the capital, when suddenly another motorcyclist appeared in front of him from a narrow lane.

Uttam managed to avoid him but lost control of his vehicle and hit a wall.

The policeman was still alive when he was taken to the hospital, said witnesses. Shortly after reaching the hospital, he died.

The other person involved in the accident is safe. Police officials are trying determine the exact circumstances of this accident.

Ramburrun joined the police force right after finishing high school. He was a bright student at Royal College of Port Louis. He served in the police force for 27 years.

According to his colleagues, Ramburrun was a very reserved person. His main priorities were his work and his family. He is survived by his wife and three children – two boys and a girl.
