Russian’s Hearing
The Russian tourist Sergev Chernusov who is charged with involuntary homicide was heard at the Pamplemousses district court on Thursday.

Released on bail, he had applied to travel to Moscow on medical and business grounds. The Russian national was arrested after he was involved in a fatal road accident in which one Parbhowtee Ramdany was killed at La Nicoliere on Sunday.

His lawyer Sanjeev Teeluckdhary told The Independent Daily that the prosecution has not yet taken a stand on the request made by the defence and has asked for additional time. The case has been postponed to December 6 when defence request to grant the Russian couple four weeks of leave so that they can travel to Moscow on December 8. They propose to be back on January 8, 2012.
