However, Zaid Ameer, president of the Dealer in Imported Vehicles Association (DIVA), also suggests that additional measures are taken to prevent forgery. It recommends a proof of authentication submitted by the exporter, translated into English and certified by the 'Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate'.
However, importers have rebelled against changes in importation costs of second-hand vehicles from 1 January this year. They highlight some "inconsistencies". In particular, no action is provided for recording "agents" private, many of whom are public employees.
You should know that the license for 'Authorised Second-hand motor vehicle dealers' increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 from January 1, 2013.
This decision is, according to DIVA, in contradiction with the fact that the sale of second hand cars would have fallen in 2008 to 8500 in 5500 2012. In addition, the number of operators has increased from 40 in 2008 to 65 currently. The association is also concerned that the license did not become taxable agents.
Another inconsistency, according to DIVA, importers of new cars do not have to pay license while the sale of these cars grew by 5,000 in 2008 to 9,800 in 2012.
