Three Fatalities in a Week
Start of deadly year on the roads. Three people died in road accidents in the space of a week. A police officer of 22 years has left the road fatal last Thursday. Pedestrian and cyclist have them succumbed to their injuries after being hit by a motorcycle and a car respectively.

Since the beginning of the year, three people died in road accidents. Indeed, a motorist, cyclist and pedestrian died on the roads in the space of a week. Thursday, while he was driving his car in Chemin Grenier, Eric The Cheeky Brian, a police officer of 22 years, was off the road. His vehicle struck a tree and died instantly. The circumstances of the accident remain, for now, unknown.This is the first fatal accident of the year.

The other two accidents are, in fact, occurred just before the beginning of the year but it is only a few days later that the victims succumbed to their injuries. After an accident on Dec. 28 on the main road of Quatre Bornes, Rajendra Vencatasamy, 53 accident, was admitted to Victoria Hospital. A motorcycle was hit whilst passing through the crosswalk. After five days in the hospital, the victim did not survive his injuries and died on January 2. The breathalyzer test performed on the motorcyclist was negative. The latter appeared in court before being released on bail. 

The third victim Josian Phoebi Herbert, 32, was riding a bicycle on the main road of Poste-la-Fayette towards Roches-Noires, on Dec. 30, when a car hit him from behind. Admitted to the intensive care unit at the hospital in Flacq, he succumbed to his injuries on January 4, five days later. The cause of death was brain injury. The breathalyzer test performed on the driver of the car was negative.
