Two Fatal Accidents in Less Than 24 Hours
Once again, the road was deadly Thursday for a 65 year old man in Upper Shore and a 27 year old woman in Plaine-Magnien.

The first accident occurred around 5:15 Thursday morning, a baker said in his statement recorded at the police station in Riviere du Rampart, a motorcyclist and his wife were struck by a garbage truck and a 4x4 . This inhabitant of Riviere du Rampart said he saw the couple on the asphalt of the road with injuries. 

He stopped to help them. The woman then explained that she was on a moped with her husband when a garbage truck has broke and has not stopped. While he helped them to safety at the roadside, a 4x4 came and crashed headlong into the man and woman. Dulloo Bibi, aged 57 was seriously injured, while her husband, Jamaloodeen, died instantly. 

According to the report of the autopsy, the cause of death is due to shock caused by multiple injuries. The police brought the garbage truck driver on the day of the accident. He admitted to having borrowed the main road from Riviere du Rampart, but denied any involvement in this accident. The investigation is ongoing to trace the driver of the 4x4. 

In addition, another fatal accident occurred at 22 hours. Premawtee Seeparsad, a storekeeper in a textile company was mowed down by a van outside his house. This inhabitant of Plaine Magnien, was descended from the van that brought him back to his work. She crossed the road in front of the vehicle when another van that doubled the vehicle, was struck. 

Premawtee Seeparsad death was confirmed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital at Rose-Belle. The breathalyzer test performed on the driver of the van, aged 22 and a resident of Bois Cheri, was negative. He appeared in court under a load of Mahebourg provisional manslaughter.
