Two road deaths in one day

Valley of the Priests, mourns the death of a teenage girl aged 16, who was on board a taxi. The driver, who doubled a truck, lost control of his vehicle. A Mapou, a motorcyclist died after being hit by a car.

Relatives of Nilesh Gounowry are inconsolable. One that is seen by his family as the person most jovial of the family will no longer smiling relatives. It is around 10:00 on Thursday 30 June, the girl was killed, some 200 meters from his home. She had boarded a taxi, to travel to the capital. "She was going to Port Louis to settle some personal matters," said Atma Gounowry, the uncle of the victim. This fatal accident, confirmed that the danger is everywhere on the roads of the Valley-Priests. The conduct of drivers, is often decried by area residents, said Nilesh's uncle. Relatives of the victim, regrets that the authorities concerned have not agreed to a request from local residents, who claim several years, the installation of barriers.
